35 years of experience

35 years ago, the Downtown Men's Hockey League (DMHL) started as a single division operating out of a single arena for mutual friends and colleagues. Today, the DMHL spans all of downtown and uptown Toronto while operating out of the city's most iconic, historic and premium arenas. We have long represented the gold standard when it comes to recreational adult hockey played in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).
There is no other league Torontonians would rather play in, as is reflected by the never ending waitlist of times hoping for a spot to open up or a division expansion to happen. Generations of players have come and gone, team dynasties have risen and fallen as our long and storied history rewrites itself year after year.
This takes us to 2021. After many years in the making, we are proud to finally announce that members of our passionate and dedicated team at the DMHL will be taking their talents to basketball with the launch this year of the Downtown Toronto Basketball League. In partnership with our longtime friends at De La Salle College, our new basketball league will operate out of the new sports facility they have constructed on their campus.

Our Mission

Toronto is no longer a hockey town. As a hockey league, it pains us to have to write those words but the truth is undeniable at this point. This city now belongs to basketball and the Toronto Raptors. Toronto no longer bleeds blue, but red instead.
As with the DMHL, the DTBL will strive to create the best overall basketball experience available at the recreational level for people of all ages, genders and skill levels. You may have never played professionally, but we want to make your basketball matter and feel important to you. Location Through our partnership with TBA, DTBL players have access to not only the best basketball facility in the city of Toronto, but also easy access by transit and vehicle with underground parking.	Social Media Who doesn't like a little extra social media swag for the profile? Let us help you with that as we provide awesome content of you and your squad all season long. Photography + Video Our professional photographer and videographer will be at the courts throughout the season snapping high definition photos and videos of you and your team.

Real Time Statistics Our premium website will track all games as they happen live with up to the second real time scoring. Points, Assists, Rebounds, Steals, FG%, 3PT% + seasonal averages will all be tracked online.	Career Profile When you start your DTBL career, keep track of all your accomplishments season after season on your personal profile - just like a sports card. We will even snap a profile picture for you!	Jerseys All players will will receive a free DTBL jersey. Look professional, play professional.

Awards + Giveaways Various awards will be given out to the stand out performers in each division at the end of the season. Giveaways will also be provided and detailed on at a later date.	Sponsorship We have some very exciting sponsor partnerships in the works to announce in the near future. Stay tuned!	Professional Officials Certified referee officials will be present at all DTBL games.
